Procurement Jobs in Kenya 2013.
The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is a State Authority  created under an Act of Parliament No. 35 of 2011 which provides for civilian oversight of work of the police.
IPOA has various vacancies and would like to inform interested members of the public to apply:
Procurement Officer – Grade 6
Ref: IPOA 14/08/13
Reporting to the Head Procurement, the jobholder will be responsible for ensuring timely processing tenders for procurement of goods and services within the framework of established policies and procedures.
The jobholder will also be responsible for:
Implementing Authority’s procurement policies and procedures
Preparing quarterly and annual procurement plans in line with approved budgets
Assisting in procurement documentation, and supporting the Head of Procurement with secretarial duties of procurement Committees
Maintaining an accurate record of Authority’s suppliers and service providers
Provide support in monitoring of the procurement functions in Liaison with user department in drawing and managing procurement contracts.
Ensuring accurate and up-to-date procurement files and other records
In conjunction with departmental units, compile a list of assets earmarked for disposal for submission to the Disposal Committee
Ensure that Local Purchase Orders are maintained and prepared accurately as per Tender and Procurement Committees’ resolutions
Supervising the preparation of Goods Received Notes (GRNs), and signing of Delivery Notes
Implementing annual departmental procurement plans in liaison with user departments as per Authority’s approved material requirements
The successful candidate will have
a Bachelor’s degree and a Diploma in Supplies Management with three (3) years relevant working experience with a reputable organization and a member professional body in procurement is a must.
Procurement Assistant – Grade 7
Ref: IPOA 15/08/13
Reporting to the Procurement Officer, the jobholder will be responsible for ensuring proper record keeping of tenders’ documents procurement of goods and services within the framework of established policies and procedures.
The jobholder will also be responsible for:
Routine secretarial support to the procurement unit
Keeping and maintaining all procurement records and availing them when required
Assist in developing of indents, orders and requisitions
Keep an update of the procurement registry
Keep data of all the LSO`s and LPO`s
Preparation of GRNs and LSOs and LPOs
The successful candidate will have
a Diploma in Supplies Management and two (2) years relevant working experience with a reputable organization.
