Assistant Poultry Manager
Location: Nambale district, Busia county, Kenya
Description:
The poultry farm has a range of birds at different ages on the farm.
These include:
breeding poultry birds
layers producing eggs for the food-chain
birds bred for meat
Key responsibilities:
Coordinates activities involved in raising poultry, such as collecting and candling eggs, feeding and vaccinating poultry, crating and shipping fryers, and cleaning and fumigating chicken houses.
Record keeping
Maintaining safe working practices
Ensuring welfare of birds
Trains new workers.
Advertising and marketing farm products
Other responsibilities as required by Farm Manager

Good planning and problem-solving (analytical) ability
Enjoy working outside in all kinds of weather
Good communication and organisational skills
A responsible attitude and to be able to work independently
Ability to carry out manual duties
Able to handle isolation and minimal social interaction
Technical knowledge of the environment
Effective people management skills
Marketing and sales skills
The successful candidate will:
Have experience of working with stock – preferably but not essentially Poultry
Have a qualification relevant to animal production
Status: Open
Salary: KES 10,000/= to 20,000/= per month, depending on qualifications and experience
