Position: Head of Sales
Reporting To: COO
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Our client is a national and international communication services provider specializing in offering broadcasting, streaming services, videoconferencing solutions, network solutions, managed services and high speed data and Internet connectivity.
Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this position is responsible for the followings key areas in Sales Department.
Responsible for the entire Sales functions across Corporate, Business, Government as well as Channel Sales.
Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market.
Direct sales team and provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values.
Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for clients and Account Managers.
Corporate & Business Sales
Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
Responsible for the performance and development of the Account Managers.
Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
Conducts one-on-one review with all Account Managers to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of Account Manager’s sales and activity performance.
Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by Account Executives.
Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses.
Assists Account Managers in preparation of proposals and presentations.
Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
Channel Sales
Guiding the Channel Sales Manager for Channel Management.
Building strategies to increase sales using Resellers. Motivating resellers and building the Plan to meet them to be in touch with them.
Government Sales
Government Sales Management.
Keeping track of all Government Tenders with Government Account Manager.
Guiding Account Manager and Building relationship with various Government departments.
Feedback to Senior Management on various developments.
Keeping track of the competitor strategies along-with Account Manager.
Internal / External Cooperation
Insures that all Account Managers meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
Educates sales team by establishing programs/seminars in the areas of new account sales and growth, sales of emerging products and multi-product sales, profitability, improved
presentation strategies, competitive strategies, proper use and level of sales support, management of expenses and business/financial issues on contracts.
Hold regular meetings with All Sales Managers as well as Resellers.
Delegates authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
Sets examples for Account Managers/Executives in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
Conducts regular coaching and counseling with Account Managers/Executives to build motivation and selling skills.
Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
Coordination with various departments Like Technical, Project, Commercial etc for proposals implementation and after sales activities.
Requirements (Experience and Education)
Master’s Degree or an equivalent.
5-7 years of experience in top level sales management
Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements of Corporate as well as Government. Also knowledge on filing tenders
Willingness to travel
Extensive experience in all aspects of Customer Relationship Management
MIS/IT/CS background preferred
Professional qualification in Sales/Marketing e.g CIM
