    The Chief Sergeant-at-Arms is an office in the County Assembly Service charged with duties involving service to the Speaker, Members, the Clerk and other staff of the County Assembly and performance of chamber and ceremonial duties.

  • Investigating security incidents;
  • Coordinate Assembly police;
  • Disseminates relevant information to members through notice boards;
  • Carries out periodical security surveys;
  • Conducts institutional risk assessment.

  • Have served in the disciplined forces for a period of not less than seven (7) years

    Logistics Intern International Rescue Committee


    The key objective of the Logistics Intern is to record and maintain proper records of all IRC assets, to monitor their movement and issuing and assessing their status.
    He / She will also be involved in preparation of shipments to the field sites in Somalia and photocopying all logistics documents.

    Save of Children Jobs Nutrition Manager


    Role Purpose:
    The Consortium Manager will be responsible for effective and high quality planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, reporting and donor relationship management for all the work of the Somalia Nutrition Consortium.
    This will commence with the recently secured 10m GBP, 4-year DFID grant which aims to reach approximately 59,106 beneficiaries in targeted areas of South and Central Somalia, combining life-saving treatment and prevention of acute malnutrition.
    Key Areas of Accountability:
    Programme Development and Planning
    • Ensure that the inception phase related to the DFID grant, planned for a period of 6 months, will produce the outputs as set in the DFID proposal, allowing the consortium to refine and finalise strategies, methodologies and inputs.
    • Provide strategic guidance and report to Steering Committee and implementing partners in particular in planning and implementing high quality and innovative nutrition programmes
    • Institute a practice of joint project planning and reviewing with consortium members
    • Ensure that the programme adapts best practices gained through establishment and maintenance of high level professional engagement with relevant actors (including academic/research institutions, international organisations, etc.)
    • Ensure the development and application of appropriate systems for systematic documentation, dissemination and storage of best practices and knowledge gained from implementing the programme
    • Support the Steering Committee and members of the consortium in identifying opportunities for improving the quality and scope of the programme Programme Implementation
    • Ensure the development and application of harmonised approaches for implementing the programme including the development of standards and frameworks for monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL)
    • Ensure that technical support areas of implementing consortium partners are identified and addressed to ensure quality programme delivery by the team designated for consortium management
    • Provide continuous guidance to the Consortium Management team made up of Grants Manager, MEAL Manager, IYCF and Research Advisors
    • Provide centralised technical support across all consortium members and ensure the development and application of common standards and practices for programme planning, implementation, monitoring, learning and reporting within all members of the consortium
    • Ensure the effective planning and implementation of activities that cut-across all consortium members including assessments, studies, capacity building initiatives, setting up and running of a centralized evidence and knowledge management and dissemination initiatives etc.
    • Ensure that implementation of the programme across all consortium members is regularly monitored; evidences, results and lessons are documented and communicated; challenges are tracked and addressed in a timely manner
    • Ensure that the project is appropriately staffed across the consortium members, including the appropriate combination of expertise across technical and operational areas.
    Reporting
    • Ensure that monthly programme progress updates are produced and shared with the Steering Committee in a timely manner
    • Ensure the adoption of nutrition data/information collection and management systems including the production and communication of professional quality reports to users and donors as required
    • Institute a practice of producing a harmonised quality programme report by consortium members (develop relevant tools and training of staff)
    • Ensure the production and submission of evidence based and high quality technical/narrative and financial reports to be submitted to the donor and consortium members
    Coordination
    • Chair the Programme Technical Working Group (TWG) to be held on a regular basis
    • Ensure that all consortium members both at field and Nairobi levels coordinate
    • Regularly represent the Nutrition Consortium at Cluster/Sector coordination and technical working group meetings, and other relevant fora
    • Strengthen integrated programming in areas of operation
    • Liaise on a regular basis with other departments of the Lead Agency and other Consortium members to guarantee the smooth running of the programme.
    Advocacy
    • Ensure that evidence is adequately produced and use learning to advocate for good practices with key stakeholders (international agencies, local government, civil society and communities).
    • Ensure that the team is disseminating effective interventions at a wider scale.
    Other duties:
    • Comply with and promote all Global Policies such as Child Safeguarding, whistle blowing, fraud and safety
    • Perform other duties as may be requested by the Steering Committee and incumbent’s line manager.
    Qualifications and Experience and Attributes:
    Essential
    • At least 10 years of overseas work experience (ideally in Horn/ sub-Saharan Africa region), preferably in relief/development work with management and supervisory responsibilities in program, administration at senior management level
    • Prior experience of designing and/or delivering large scale integrated programmes.
    • Proven ability to manage consortia with an extensive experience managing multi-agency programmes.
    • Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding programme targets, while maintaining technical quality.
    • Ability to represent an integrated programme at a strategic level and engage and influence key stakeholders at district and national level.
    • Self-motivated and results orientated.
    • Highly numerically articulated with a track record of data manipulation and reporting systems.
    • Experience in management of finance and budget monitoring and risk management. Proven ability to motivate and develop others
    • Highly diplomatic and emotionally intelligent with strong oral and written communication skills.

    Training for Peace (TfP) is an international capacity building programme that focuses on strengthening African police capacity for peace operations.
    The main activities are:
    • Enhancing the standardised UN/AU police capacity building training in Regional Economic Community and member countries

    The Researcher & Training Coordinator will be based in Nairobi and will report to a Senior Researcher in the Conflict Management and Peacebuilding Division based in Pretoria, under the direction of the Division Head. 
    The coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of programme management, including but not limited to:
    • Planning and delivery of outputs;
    • Coordination with relevant African Police Contributing Countries;
    • Financial management;
    • Quality control over the training, research and policy products;
    • Monitoring and evaluation; and external engagement.
    The successful candidate should have served as a senior police officer, or other appropriate security force officer, with UN and/or AU peace operations deployment experience. 
    Experience in providing technical guidance on training, research and analysis on UN and AU and peace missions, as well as policy development support to the AU and regional organisations is also required. 
    The coordinator should have knowledge about conflict issues in Africa, an effective network across the continent and a strong record of relevant publications and policy work.
    Requirements:
    • A minimum of an Honours degree in international relations, African politics, or a relevant field 
    • At least 10 years experience as a police officer at mid-management level, including deployment as a police officer to African Peace Operations 
    • Proven experience in the training of police officials Financial project management skills 
    • Excellent research and writing skills, and a record of relevant publications 
    • A team leader with excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in cooperation with governments and civil society 
    • Experience in providing direct policy support to governments

    Responsibilities
