Key Roles:

c) To dismantle pirate networks identified in co-ordination with all the relevant Security organs including the Kenya Police Service, KPLC Security, Kenya Copyright Board etc. as well as other affected media content providers.
d) To co-ordinate the disposable of all the recovered pirate equipment and materials.
e) To co-ordinate and cooperate with the Wananchi Group legal team and Law enforcement agencies to ensure that previously dismantled pirate networks are not re-activated.
2) Maintain the security of the Wananchi Group network by:
a) Ensuring that there are no pirate networks operating within the environs of the Wananchi Group network.
b) Timely intervention once pirate networks have been identified to ensure they are properly dismantled.
c) Maintaining a close relationship with the relevant Government Security organs and other third-parties to ensure that they receive timely intelligence information on the installation of pirate networks in all areas of interest to the Wananchi Group.
3) Working with the Customer Operations Manager & Surveillance Technicians to:
a) Receive and track all reports of pirate networks received from surveillance technicians.
b) Act on the received information to dismantle the pirate networks ASAP in co-ordination with the relevant Security organs.
c) Ensure the security of Wananchi Group personnel as they determine the locations and network coverage pirate networks.
d) Provide regular reports on the existence of and the dismantling of pirate networks to the Wananchi Group Customer Operations Manager.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
It is desirable that the individual has worked as a member of Kenya’s security forces.
Diploma in IT or related technical field will be an added advantage.
Knowledge &Experience with mobilizing security operations and raids to dismantle illegal activities.
Knowledge of Kenyan Laws relating to media content, copyright infringement etc. would be an added advantage.
Must be of very high integrity and uphold high ethical standards and honesty.

Enforce the relevant Civil Aviation Regulations and recommend appropriate actions;

Qualifications
The successful candidates must possess the following qualifications:
A relevant Bachelors Degree from a recognized University;
A Masters’ degree in a related field would be an added advantage;
At least five (5) years experience at senior level in the aviation sector or arelated field;
Proven experience in financial accountability and people management
Certificate in a approved ICAO aviation training, National Aviation Security Inspectors Course and an advanced certificate in Aviation Security or advanced instructors technique course would be an added advantage;

Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the LSO will be responsible for Adeso Administrative, Logistics and Security roles with overall control and responsibility over the sections of Procurement, Transportation, Warehousing / Assets, Communication, Equipment Maintenance, and Reporting.
Position Purpose
The Logistics and Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring quality in logistics support across Adeso HQ, field offices, and projects.
You will also ensure the logistics function is delivering timely, cost-effective, high quality and appropriate support; and supporting field teams in achieving and maintaining minimum standards in logistics work.Specific Roles and Responsibilities
Procurement
Ensure that procurement tracking is current and updated;
Ensure timely & accurate logistical reporting to Project Manager;
Continuously assess the market for new procurement opportunities;
Ensure timely delivery of program supplies to field sites in line with project implementation;
Assist in the development, monitoring and review of procurement plans.
Ensure that all contracts with the organization are in an updated database spreadsheet and are paid on time.
Transport and Travel
Manage and coordinate vehicles and drivers currently used by the team;
Hire additional vehicles where necessary;
Ensure that the Drivers fill in the log sheets accurately on a daily basis;
Arrange for road transportation of goods when necessary;
Ensure that vehicles are periodically scheduled for maintenance and service;
Warehousing / Assets
Ensure that all Adeso assets and equipment used in Garissa are properly assessed and documented (including physical location and condition) to contribute to an updated country program asset register;
Ensure that all documentation is completed and stored in readiness for external and internal audit requirements;
To carry out periodic stock checks and to provide physical count of random items in storage.
To manage all paperwork related to stored items, including Stock Cards, delivery and receipt papers.
Communication/IT
Ensure logistical support in event of emergency, and that all necessary advance measures have been taken;
Be responsible for office laptops, project cameras, codan radios, satellite phones and telephones;
Manage the contract with the internet service provider;
Ensure that all printers and scanners are in good working conditions;
Provide IT support/networking support when necessary;
Liaison with other NGOs and UN agencies on logistics issues.
Equipment Maintenance
Ensure that systems for regular maintenance or repair are implemented for vehicles and other equipment and that routine maintenance and repair of communication and office equipment (computer, radios, satellite phones, power generators) is carried out per schedule.
Ensure that proper tracking of equipment out for maintenance is followed.
Provide technical supervision of drivers for matters related to safety and security
Security
Act as the security focal point for North Eastern Kenya;
Provide all staff with regular security briefings and updates and ensure that all staffs adhere to security policies and procedures;
Conduct regular security and risk assessments for all operational areas;
Supervise the security guards performance in Garissa;
Ensure that field communications needs are met and that staffs are trained in the use of radios and other communications equipment as necessary;
Liaise with Kenyan Government Security Agencies, UN Agencies, NGOs and other external actors to gain security information and analysis in NE Kenya.
Others
Ensuring that bills are paid on time;
Act as overall compound manager for the Adeso office compound in Garissa;
Making sure that everything at the guesthouse is in order and repairs are undertaken in a timely and quality manner;

Skills and Qualifications
Graduate degree/diploma in Supply chain management or its equivalent in relevant field;
Post graduate technical training an added advantage;
Minimum 4 years experience in similar role (NGO field or country head office preferred);
Knowledge of USAID/OFDA donor regulations will be an added advantage;
Excellent IT skills, in particular Word, Excel and email is a must;

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Description:
Solutions for African Food Enterprises (SAFE) is a TechnoServe (TNS) program in partnership with USAID and Partners in Food Solutions, with the aims of increasing the competitiveness of the African food processing sector and expanding availability of affordable and nutritious foods.
Partners in Food Solutions (PFS) is a non-profit organization formed by General Mills to link the technical and business expertise of volunteer employees from General Mills, Cargill, Royal Dutch DSM and Bühler.
This program provides knowledge and technology transfer to build the capacity of African food processors, improving availability of nutritious foods and creating market opportunities for small holder farmers.Position Description: TechnoServe is seeking a Chief of Party (CoP) for a USAID-funded regional program, Solutions for African Food Enterprises (SAFE).
This regional program will be implemented across Kenya, Malawi and Zambia in partnership with PFS representing several of the world’s leading food companies.
SAFE aims to increase the competitiveness of the African food processing sector and to expand availability of nutritious foods.
SAFE will build on the success of the African Alliance for Improved Food Processing (AAIFP), a partnership implemented by TechnoServe in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia.
Required Skills & Experience:
Oversee implementation and management of SAFE program
Accountable for program delivery – activities and outputs toward achievement of targeted outcome / goal
Set annual targets, develop and execute to annual work plans, implement ME plan, lead course correction if needed
Report to USAID, PFS and TNS on program progress
Manage the SAFE country and regional teams, including Deputy Chief of Party, ME Manager, Finance Manager and Program Assistant
Manage project to budget with robust planning and monitoring, including gender integration
Coordinate with implementing partner, PFS, and donor, USAID, and share best practices
Represent program at local and regional stakeholder level
Facilitate Safe Alignment, Coordination and Knowledge Sharing with Other Programs and Local Stakeholders:
Represent SAFE program at local and regional stakeholder level – governments, institutions, other programs, USAID Missions, etc
Foster alignment, coordination and shared learnings with stakeholders
Liaise with Project Director on contributions towards broader PFS activities – lessons, best practices and alignment with other PFS projects and priority partner interests
Manage Activities to Support Field Program Expansion:
Provide input into expansion planning
Liaise with local stakeholders and USAID missions in target geographies
Co-ordinate the mapping study of new geographies to identify program opportunity
Support the program design for new country implementation
Manage the start-up and implementation within new geographies
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Agricultural Economics, Business Administration or other relevant field
At least 5 years relevant project management experience (e.g., international SME development programs, USAID project management, private sector agro-processing)
Experience living and working in sub-Saharan Africa, regional program experience preferred
Strong market orientation, entrepreneurial and innovative thinker
Experience leading and managing high caliber multicultural teams, preferably some experience with managing remotely
Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary, and challenging field operations in developing countries, Africa preferred.
Demonstrated skills in problem solving, consensus building, and coordination of diverse stakeholders Knowledge of USAID regulations and procedures strongly preferred
Verbal and written fluency in English
Demonstrated capacity to produce high quality reports and proposals
Previous successful experience mentoring and building capacity of staff and highly results driven
