Position: Imports Officer
Industry:  Logistics
Location: Nairobi (2 Positions), Mombasa (1 Position)
Availability: Immediately
Our client, a reputable shipping company is seeking to recruit an Imports Officer with good experience in shipping to handle line operations, container tracking, assembly, bonding, storage and transportation. We are specifically looking for candidates with working experience in Shipping Industry.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving  and coordinating all shipping operations to ensure accurate and timely shipping processes with maximum efficiency
Preparing import documentation
Checking import and export documentation to determine cargo contents
Administering online purchasing system for import orders
Keeping records of all goods shipped, received and ordered
Planning and coordination of administrative activities to ensure accurate results in all aspects of shipping and related to operations
Contacting vendors and or claims adjustment departments in order to resolve problems with shipments, or contact service depots to arrange for repairs
Qualifications and Skills
Degree / Diploma in any related field
A minimum of  3 years experience in a similar role
Knowledge of customs procedures, laws and tariffs
Negotiation skills
Time management skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills
Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications
