CARE is looking for suitable candidate to fill the position of Nutrition Project Officer based in Garowe, Puntland for Emergency Programme.
Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to oversee all aspects of emergency nutrition activities including needs assessments, establishment of nutrition programme and procurement of special nutrition needs.

Key Responsibilities:
a. Program implementation and monitoring
Conduct initial rapid assessment of current situation in collaboration with local partner and affected population and Provide leadership and expertise in nutrition component assessments in emergency response and ensure that nutrition program is linked to other emergency response components.
Design, implement and analyze food and nutrition related needs assessment for under fives, pregnant , lactating , elderly and disabled and analyze need for target support to infant and young child feeding and if appropriate organize support in coordination with local partners and volunteers
Work with partner staff to develop community based programs for addressing problems of malnourished children and represent care international , Somalia in the assigned program location and liaison with partners, donors, governments and NGOs at filed level on nutrition issues.

Required Qualifications:
Diplomas in at least one of the following: nursing , nutrition and public health
Previous experience in working on management of acute malnutrition.
1-3 years experience in nutrition interventions preferably experience in medium-large scale nutritional emergencies
Experience organizing and facilitating training
Excellent communication skills-written and spoken
Fluency in English and Somali
Strong interpretation skills, creativity , flexibility, adaptability and empathy
Ability to plan and facilitate health based curriculum trainings/ workshop
