Pursuant to the Constitution of Kenya 2010 under article 176 and the County Government Act No. 17 of 2012 section 45, the Lamu County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions:
Head of County Human Resource Management

LCPSB / 2013 / 07
Terms of Service: Permanent
The Officer will be responsible to the Chief Officer for administration and governance.
Specific duties will include:
Establishing and operationalizing the human resource management functions;
Carrying out staff audits; identifying gaps and purposing optional staffing level in the county
Preparing the Budget for the HRM function;
Ensuring correct interpretation of human resource polices, rules, regulations, labour laws and other relevant statutes;
Establishing performance management systems;
Ensuring compliances with public service value and principle in counties
Establishing records, management systems; and organizing for transfer of all human resource record from both national and local authorities,
Preparation of Human resource transition reports; and
Performing any other duties as assigned.
Requirements for Appointment
Have a bachelorize degree in social sciences.
Must have postgraduate Diploma in Human resource Management
Membership of relevant professional body will be added advantage.
Relevant working experience of not less than (3) years in job group N
Salary Scale: KShs. 77,527 – 103,894
House Allowance: 20,000
Commuter Allowance: 12,000

Requirements

1.       Diploma/Higher National Diploma in Food/Dairy Technology.
2.       At least 5 years’ experience in automated process in a manufacturing set up. Experience in the dairy industry would be an added advantage
3.       Proficient in Computer Operations
4.       Good Knowledge in Scada machines
5.       33 years and above
6.       Must be willing to work long hours and on a shift basis

Job Description

Ensure consistent cleanliness of the facility, of both general waste and medical waste
Clean and sterilize in-patient areas of the facility following deliveries and other patient procedures
Transport soiled linens to the laundry, wash, dry, and restock
Sterilize equipment as assigned
Any other duties as may be assigned such as stocking routine items and even assisting in wheeling patients in the facility.
Desired Qualifications
The desired candidate should possess the following:
Completed secondary school education
At least three years’ work experience
Required: At least 1-2 years’ experience working as a cleaner/Janitor or equivalent in a health facility. Preference given for experience working in busy hospitals or maternities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and empathy
Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
Ability to work effectively with a team in a culturally diverse environment
Willingness to work night shifts as needed
