Experience
•    Not less than 4 years actively involved in maintenance work, trouble shooting and design work
Qualification
•    Mechanical Engineering Diploma –Plant or Production option, a HND in the same field is an added advantage.
•    Knowledge in TPM/Lean Sigma concepts preferred
Detailed Job description
•    Executing the preventive maintenance, condition monitoring schedule for all machines
•    Diagnosing faults and ensuring accurate, precise and timely repairs of the factory machinery and equipment while adopting a Right First Time Philosophy/Mindset
•    Assisting in the Installation and commissioning of new machinery & plant
•    Accountable for personnel and equipment safety during operations and maintenance
•    In Liaison with the engineer, preparing lists of required spare parts for plant machinery and installations while maintaining a lean inventory
•    Sketching existing, new machine parts and tools and writing reports as need arises
•    Machining and modifying needed machine parts for plant and equipment
•    Keeping the workspace clean, tidy and maintaining hygienic practices that support the company food safety programs
•    Upholding set engineering standards, striving to bring to normalcy any deviations from set standards in a safe manner, escalating critical issues beyond their capability to the engineer in a sustainable manner
•    Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances
•    Actively participate in machine operator training to promote and endear autonomous maintenance programs
•    Participating in self-development activities so as to keep abreast with new and emerging technologies

Detailed Job Description
•    Study equipment electrical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine electrical installation procedures in line with electrical safety standards
•    Play a leading role in energy conservation activities/projects in line with business energy policies and cost saving measures.
•    Execute energy survey and audit findings or other initiatives either self-generated or delegated
•    Ably trouble shoot software related issues especially Siemens S7, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi among others including handling programming issues
•    Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, condition monitoring tasks to detect and forestall problems while escalating complex issues beyond their control to the engineer in a sustainable manner
•    Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
•    In Liaison with the engineer, update equipment electrical spare parts list whenever needed or as result of major changes in technology or process.
•    Coordinate efforts with other maintenance staff involved in installing or maintaining equipment or components
•    Adhere to clean and hygienic standards by keeping work stations clean, free of dirt and promoting food safety program
•    Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires
•    Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests
•    Operate equipment to demonstrate proper use or to analyze malfunctions
•    Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems
•    Train mechanics and operators on simple diagnostic tools that reduce equipment and quality defects in a sustainable manner
•    Repair or adjust equipment, machines, or defective components, replacing worn parts, such as gaskets or seals in watertight electrical equipment
•    Consult the engineer to plan layout of equipment or to resolve problems in system operation or maintenance
•    Develop or modify industrial electronic devices, circuits, or equipment, according to available specifications with approval from the engineer
•    Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications
•    Keep record documents for equipment replaced or repaired

Program Management Specialist, Energy
The United States Agency for International Development’s Kenya Mission (USAID/Kenya) seeks to fill the position of Program Management Specialist, Energy (FSN12).
The position is based in Nairobi and open to qualified Kenyan citizens.
The successful candidate serves as a project manager and an in-house technical expert on energy issues.
The Specialist utilizes an in-depth knowledge of the Kenyan energy sector and its key stakeholders to help USAID design and implement high impact programs in Kenya under President Obama’s newly-launched Power Africa Initiative.
The Specialist works to accelerate power projects and address related policy issues, especially in clean, renewable energy.
He/she will be part of a team that manages USAID/Kenya’s Power Africa program in support of Kenya’s efforts to increase access to reliable, affordable, and sustainable power for its citizens, while ensuring responsible, transparent, and effective management of Kenya’s energy resources.
Required Qualifications:

Experience (30% of evaluation criteria): A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible, professional-level experience in an energy sector-related area is required. At least two years (2) of this experience in development-related work for USAID, other donor agencies, Government of Kenya organizations, or private-sector institutions is preferred.
Knowledge (30% of evaluation criteria): Strong knowledge of issues relating to economic and clean energy development in Kenya and the region, as well as the strengths and vulnerabilities of the Kenyan and regional energy sectors.
Additionally, the Specialist must have an in-depth, expert knowledge of a broad range of issues related to energy policy, generation, transmission, distribution, project financing and human resources capacity building, as well as knowledge of private-sector development and competitiveness.
Skills and Abilities (40% of evaluation criteria):
A high level of technical expertise and ability in energy and private-sector development is required.
The Specialist should possess the ability to advise senior Mission management on Kenyan power development and issues across a wide range of energy related topics (such as the regulatory environment for energy, key barriers to energy reform, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

The Person

Minimum of 3 years work experience in Exchange and collaboration platforms or other related fields.
Good understanding of internet connectivity, security, content provision and filtering
Good insight and experience in IT Security related issues such as user rights assignment and access control
Demonstrated understanding of antivirus, patch management and other endpoint security implementations
Good knowledge of Office productivity software; MS Office Suite
Good knowledge of the workings of the internet, firewalls and VPN technology
Some working knowledge of PC hardware

Duties and Responsibilities
Install, configure and program IP and Analog CCTV cameras (including DVRs and NVRs), Access Control Systems, Intruder Alarm Systems, Fire Detection Systems, Electric Gates and other security products and systems.
Integrate CCTV cameras, access control systems and other security systems through service installation and software deployment.
Undertake and coordinate customer site surveys to determine security and technical requirements, including preparing detailed site plans/schematics and make recommendations for appropriate system solutions.
Assess installed systems for operational and performance deficiencies through documented testing and troubleshooting protocols/procedures and discuss with customers the appropriate corrective actions.
Manage installation job site in an efficient and safe manner keeping it clean, organized and professional.

Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a recognized National Training Institution.
Minimum 3 years experience installing, commissioning and maintaining electronic security systems, including CCTVs (IP and Analog CCTV cameras), Access Controls, Intruder Alarms, Fire Detection Systems, Electric Gates, etc
Advanced knowledge of computers and IP networks, structured cabling methods, racking, cable terminations and practices
Demonstrated experience in using cable testers, termination tools and other basic hand and power tools
Advanced conduit and cable management skills are essential
Experience installing all types of electro-magnetic locks and strikes
Experience in wiring security and communication control panels
Ability to work independently under minimum supervision or as a team leader
Ability to work in any environment safely and must have maintained an excellent safety record over the last 3 years
Ability to teach and provide guidance to other engineers
Must be able to work in outdoor settings and confined spaces, be comfortable working with ladders, tolerating heights, and be able to routinely lift, push, or pull packages of up to 25kgs.
Excellent written and oral English language skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
