The Meru County Government wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant position as per the constitution of Kenya 2010 and section 451, 150 and 510 of the County Government Act No.17 of 2012.
County Legal Officer

Job Group “S”
Salary Scale: Kshs.120,270
House Allowance: Kshs.56,000 p.m
Commuter Allowance: Kshs 20,000 p.m
Terms of Service: Contract
Requirements for Appointment
Be a Kenyan Citizen
Be a holder of at least a first degree in Law from a university recognized in Kenya;
Have knowledge, experience and a distinguished career of not less than ten years as a legal practitioner; and
Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Providing legal advice to the County
Representing the County in civil matters as need arises;
Keeping abreast of legal and policy developments;
Providing legislative support to the County as well as preparing amendments where appropriate.
Identifying strategic priority areas that require law reform; and
Undertaking legal research.
For candidate to meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution 2012, he/she must have the following clearance:-
A certificate of good Conduct from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)
A clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
A tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
A clearance certificate from the Kenya Anticorruption Commission (KACC)
