Working for the government, especially in
parastatals and commissions is now becoming an envy of many. In fact
some of them pay much better than private sectors.
Who doesn’t want job security and flexible working hours not to mention lesser work and expectations? These are some of the many reasons why people prefer working for government rather than private sectors.
When the private sector has this tendency to ‘milk you dry’ for lack of a better word and in most cases, the pay doesn’t commensurate with the performance and the crazy hours put in. Parastatals and many commissions are paying salaries that we in the private sector can only dream of. For instance KRA pays its graduate trainees a cool Sh 68,000 where as many private sectors will start at Sh 25 – 35K.
From a survey on employees working in different parastatals, we found out the Best paying Parastatals in Kenya organized in no order.

7. Kenya Ports Authority
8. Kenya Civil Aviation Authority
