The Co-operative University College of Kenya, formerly Co-operative College of Kenya was established through the Co-operative University College of Kenya Order, Legal Notice No.161 of 4th November, 2011 as a constituent College of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
The University College aims at becoming a leading center of academic excellence in co-operative education, research, training and community service in Kenya and the region.
The University College is conveniently located approximately 20 KM from Nairobi City Centre in Karen, a very conducive environment for serious academic engagement and learning.
The University College Council seeks to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of Principal.
The appointed pioneer Principal will be a dynamic, visionary and result-oriented person of high ethical standards, integrity and professionalism.
The Principal will have the overall mandate of establishing a strong academic, research and administrative foundation for the University College.

Qualifications and Experience Applicants should meet the following requirements: Must possess an earned PhD and be professors/Associate professors; Must have at least ten (1 0) years experience in senior academic, research or management positions; Must have held senior administrative posts such as Director/Dean of a Faculty, School, or Institute/Campus in a recognized University or institution of higher learning; Applicants are expected to be familiar with national, regional and global trends in higher education; Must demonstrate proven experience in planning, developing and implementation of academic programmes; institutional linkages and strategic management; Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, highest ethical standards, integrity and professionalism; Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; Be actively involved in research as evidenced by publications in their areas of specializations and demonstrate ability to produce results; Demonstrate ability in networking, fundraising, resource mobilization and fund management; Applicants whose areas of specialization are relevant to the following core areas of the University College (Cooperative Management, Organizational Development, Agricultural Economics, Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Business Entrepreneurship and Management) will have an added advantage.

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package, including house allowance, medical benefits, gratuity and other benefits in accordance with the University College terms of service.
The appointment will be for a contractual period of five (5) years renewable once subject to satisfactory performance.
