The Office of the Governor, Nairobi City County wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions as per article 176 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and the County Government Act of 2012.
Chief Officers (15 Posts)
In the following functional areas:
1. Finance and Economic Planning
2. Agriculture, Livestock Development & Fisheries
3. Health Services
4. Education, Children and Youth Affairs
5. Gender, Culture and Social Services
6. Public Works, Roads and Transport
7. Public Service Management
8. Procurement
9. Trade, Industrialization& Cooperative Development
10. Tourism and Wildlife
11. Lands and Housing
12. City Planning
13. Water, Energy and Natural Resources
14. Environment and Forestry
15. Information, Communication, and E-Government
a) Requirements for appointment
i) Be a Kenyan Citizen.
ii) Be a holder of at least a first degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
iii) Have knowledge, experience and a distinguished career of not less than ten years in the specific area.
iv) Be Computer literate
v) Must have attended a course in Management/Strategic Leadership
vi) A relevant Masters Degree is an added advantage.
vii) Applicants must be registered with a relevant professional body.
viii) Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
b) Duties and responsibilities
The Chief Officer shall be the authorized officer in respect of exercise of delegated power and shall be responsible to the respective County Executive Member for:.
i) The Administrative duties of a County Department.
ii) Implementation of policies and development plans.
iii) Development and Implementation of Strategic Plans.
iv) Formulate and implement effective programs to attain Vision 2030 and sector goals.
v) Promote national values and principles of government and values and principles of public service referred to in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
vi) Proven experience in Public Finance Management.
vii) Other duties as assigned by the County Governor.
Terms of Service: Contract 3 years renewable
Salary Scale: Kshs.120, 270 – Kshs.180,660 P.M House Allowance: Kshs.56,000 P.M Commuter Allowance: Kshs.20,000P.M.
General Requirements for all Applicants
For a candidate to meet the requirements of chapter 6 of the Constitution, he/she must have the following clearance.
i) Certificate of good conduct from the criminal investigations department (CID)
ii) Clearance certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
iii) A tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
iv) A certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
