Our client, a global beauty leader, is seeking a Purchasing Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit, international exposure and FMCG experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the purchasing team on a range of product/service categories in line with the company’s purchasing policy.
Help define departmental purchasing strategy
Assist buyers with particularly difficult and/or strategic negotiations
Boost the overall performance of the department by implementing effective procedures, methods and resources
Validate purchasing budgets, issue general reports and liaise with purchasing and operations
Recruit, develop and manage the team; ensure transfer of know-how and expertise and implement organizational changes
Technical Professional competencies required
Detailed knowledge of techniques for effective supplier relations and negotiations
Technical expertise regarding the relevant product portfolio (packaging, raw material, indirect)
Awareness of technological innovations and methods
Ability to communicate, convince and influence
Solid grasp of financial issues
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 5-8 years of demonstrated procurement experience in an FMCG company
BSc in Finance, Business, Purchasing or Operations related field
Should be a strong integrator, with working knowledge in Operations, QA, Supply Chain Management
Strong project management
Communication and influencing skills
Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment
Proficient with the different stages of the end to end sourcing process
Proven negotiation skills
Solid understanding of the impact of Purchasing decisions on customer’s and suppliers’ financials
The position offers a competitive salary plus commission structure.
