The APRM / NEPAD Kenya Secretariat invites applications for the position of Procurement Officer
Purpose of Position
The procurement Officer will be in charge of Procurement Section and oversee all Procurement functional activities
Major Responsibilities
The Procurement Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and specific responsibilities will include but not limited to;
Planning and coordination of supplies management services.
Enforcement of Government regulations, Systems and Procedures.
Preparation of supplies estimates of expenditure and control of vote.
Receiving requisitions and specifications from users doing tendering, and acquisition of goods and services.
Documentation of goods/services and custody of documents and goods.
Commissioning of procured services, issuing of goods and retiring of boarded goods.
Initiation of policies, review and updating of existing regulations, supplies management, Instructions and inspections.
Any Other procurement duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Education and Qualification
The candidate must have a Higher National Diploma in procurement/supplies management.
Work Experience
The candidate should possess a minimum of 3 (three) years experience working in a Government Ministry / Department at Job Group ‘J’ and above.
Skills and Competence
Proven track record in Procurement and Supplies Management.
Attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Kiswahili and English.
Integrity
Computer literacy in all Microsoft office programmes.
