Education and Training Coordinator Jobs in Kenya
The Rift Valley Institute is an innovative knowledge-based NGO working in eastern and central Africa to connect local knowledge to social and political action.
RVI courses have set a gold standard for field training in eastern Africa.
The newly-created post of Education and Training Coordinator combines hands-on management of the existing programme with the challenge of devising and running new courses, liaising with local universities and research organizations and developing an on-line learning platform and content for the Institute.
Management experience is essential; teaching experience, fluency in French and a track-record in fund-raising are highly desirable; IT skills and mastery of another language of the region are definite advantages.
The post may also include development of RVI’s digital archive programmes.
The RVI's institutional culture is characterised by intellectual rigour, lean management, innovative programming, professional adaptability, cultural diversity and long-term commitment to the communities of the region.
The RVI is registered as a charity in the UK. Institute staff, in our offices in London, Nairobi and Juba, are drawn from the region, from Europe, and from Asia and the Americas. The Education and Training Coordinator will be based either in Nairobi or in London, with extensive travel in the region. Flexible working arrangements are possible.
